(March 2009) In response to recent Facebook alerts, local realty company ERA Leatherman Realty, Inc., of Florence collected monetary donations from their associates and staff and purchased much needed pet food for the Florence Area Humane Society.
The FAHS is in need of many different items for use at the shelter. Their wish list includes cleaning supplies such as Clorox Bleach, Pine Sol, window cleaner, Dawn dish detergent, mops, mop heads, buckets, brooms & sponges; office supplies such as staples, index cards, pens, pencils, whiteboard markers, permanent markers, copy paper, receipt books; hose nozzles; hoses; tarps; blankets; towels; wash cloths; pillows; rugs; space heaters; fans; newspaper; paper towels & toilet paper; dog and cat toys; dog and cat bowls; dog and cat beds; dog and cat treats; Pedigree Dog, Puppy, Cat & Kitten food; canned dog/cat food; milk replacement for kittens; gift cards/certificates from Wal Mart, Target, Lowes & Vet Clinics; monetary donations.
If you are interested in volunteering at the shelter, please call 669-2921 or download the FAHS Volunteer Application from their website florencehumanesociety.org. There are many things you can do to help: clean cages, feed & water animals, wash dishes, do laundry, walk and play with dogs and cats, help with daily cleaning, foster an animal, yard maintenance.

Each time you shop at Food Lion & use your MVP card a portion of your total grocery purchase will be donated to FAHS!
Right now, monetary donations are low and animal intakes are high. Even a few dollars could help save an animal’s life. Stop by at 1007 Stockade Drive (off National Cemetary Road) or mail your donation to P.O. Box 527, Florence, SC 29503.
