Prospective buyers,
My family and I recently relocated from out of state to Minnesota, and the journey proved to be more than just a cross country adventure. It was a lesson in real estate and home ownership. Throughout, Jennifer Fisher was a rock of support. Her professionalism and determination, combined with a winning personality, revitalized what could have been a complete failure into a success and the beginning of a wonderful new chapter for my family and I.
Two years plus ago, we had friends, that are as much family as any of those related to us, relocate back to Minnesota. Naturally, we made a number of visits, with the ever-hopeful prompting from them to join them in their life out here. Hesitant and cautious we had discussed the option often, taking our time deciding. For over a year this went on, and during that time, we took another trip out to look at homes and see what the move would really take. On that trip, my wife fell in love with a home that had the added bonus of being right next door to one of our friends. Unfortunately, it was an autumn trip, and with no interest in braving a move during winter we opted to wait. “If the house is still available in spring, we will re-evaluate.”
Spring came and was ending and our friends called saying the price had dropped. One more discussion and that was it. I was on a plane within a couple of weeks with hopes and excitement. Naturally our friends made inquiries for us, resulting in our first contact with Jennifer Fisher. No bids had been placed and all looked great.
As luck would have it however, someone did place a bid between that discussion and touch down in Minneapolis. And so began the end of that hope and the beginning of a new one.
Sparing the details (numerous discussions, phone calls and advisements), we lost the house. Professional but empathetic, Jennifer called and advised, with sincerity and positivity. She had other homes lined up in the location we hoped to be in and asked if we would be interested. Deflated, and resigned to go home empty handed, I was impressed with her perseverance and willingness to work into her evening, especially considering we had a limited amount of time in the state.
Jennifer met us in less than half an hour, with print outs, suggestions, and enthusiasm. Her perseverance proved instrumental. After looking through the print outs and not being incredibly positive, we went to look at homes. 4 houses later, hope and excitement returned. Walking into the home, where we now live, it just felt right. It was as if all the little details from our conversations with Jennifer built this home.
However there was one crucial component missing, my wife. She had not made the trip, as this was going to be a trip of intent and not of viewings. To do this and not make another trip, I would have to proceed without her being able to see the home in person. Not a decision to be made lightly! Faced with this decision, Jennifer worked with me to arrange a couple more viewings, complete with a phone tour for my wife, as she accessed the website and virtual tour for the home, along with our friends on the phone talking her through each step. Throughout, Jennifer was accommodating, professional, and extremely helpful, not mention incredibly patient.
With decisions made, haggling done, price agreed upon, deposit in, and me on a plane home, came the time where I got to see Jennifer truly shine! For anyone purchasing a home, it is known how harrowing the experience can be, but purchasing one out of state, can bring all those worries pounding forward. And on that plane ride they all came to the front.
All my worry was unnecessary. Jennifer was in constant communication throughout the entire transition of home and job. We communicated through email, phone and voicemail. There was never a time I had to wonder if something was getting done. Jennifer was there and ahead of the game. Throughout the process, she was prompt, communicative, and efficient. Any questions I had were answered, or the answer was found and promptly provided. Jennifer was even there to provide suggestions for the move and offer suggestions and resources to consider, as well as pitfalls to avoid. She worked with our friends to handle the home inspection, setting it up, confirming appointments and providing insight and assistance during. She worked closely with the finance company to make sure all was in order and to assist in providing any information she could to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
On the final walkthrough before signing, it was definitely a pleasure to see Jennifer again and work with this lady who was key in helping my family realize a dream. Home ownership. She was at the house before us and ran through all the check lists, verifying and testing and in good spirits. Needless to say the signing went smoothly and quickly.
Even after signing Jennifer continued to stay in touch, making sure our personal transition was going smoothly and arranging a time to meet, once we arrived. In addition, there were a couple of items that needed to be followed up on, and where others may have let things fade, she has stayed active and aggressive in working to see these final items to completion.
It has been a pleasure working with Jennifer and my family and I are truly grateful for all her professionalism, thoroughness, and perseverance throughout. I would have no hesitation in putting any of my family and friends in contact with her, as I am completely confident they would be in superb and competent hands!
Signed,
New Minnesotans!
