Joe Isabella brings over 25 collective years of real estate, construction, business, consulting, and legal experience to ERA Rath, which includes the development, leasing, and sale of commercial properties, office buildings, retail shopping centers, and residential apartments, as well as the rezoning and development of brown field sites and rural land for urban and suburban residential developments.
A licensed attorney and real estate salesperson within the State of Ohio, Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in business, a master’s degree in accounting and computer science, and a Juris Doctorate. In addition, he has served a formal four-year carpenter’s apprenticeship in order to obtain his journeyman status, after which he advanced to foreman, project superintendent, and then project manager.
Joe has served as the Director of Consulting and Investment Services for a large Northeastern Ohio real estate firm. He managed an eight-person investment/leasing department, which syndicated, acquired, and structured transactions generating $2.5 million in gross revenues. Joe's success was based, in part, on his ability to design computer models that enabled him to evaluate the deal's potential, whether it was a lease, present value/internal rates of return analyses, lease versus buy modeling , or an IRS §1031 tax-free exchanges.
Joe also has a background in commercial banking, having served as a real estate project manager. He oversaw a substantial real estate portfolio, prepared financial proposals, negotiated loans, and administered contractual obligations for projects totaling $1.25 million.
A comprehensive portfolio that reflects Joe’s hands-on involvement with both commercial and residential projects totaling over $400 million supports Joe’s broad expertise. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and is listed in both Who’s Who in Finance and Industry as well as Who’s Who in the Midwest. He’s been married for 26 years to Maria, and they have five children ranging in age from 26 to 21.
