Dixie has been active in the real estate industry since 1982. After working as secretary and managing Carroll Realty Company for 13 years, she purchased the company in 1990. The company has grown from 5 agents, 1 property manager and 1 receptionist to 20 agents, 2 property managers and 3 receptionists.

Dixie was named Realtor of the Year for Sheridan County in 1985 and 1993 and Business Person of the Year for the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce in 1999. She is very active in the community with involvement in the First Baptist Church, Chamber of Commerce, Hospital Board, Hospital Foundation, Kiwanis, Sheridan Housing Action Committee and numerous other organizations. She has stated that "When I purchased the company, I felt that it was my obligation to give back to the community and I do that by giving of my time as well as donations."

Her hobbies include singing, playing instruments, golf (when she can), gardening and most of all her 8 grandchildren.
